Open Handedness Is Where We Find True Happiness

I am a God who gives and gives and gives.  When I died for you on the cross, I held back nothing; I poured out My life like a drink offering.  Because giving is inherent in My nature, I search for people who are able to receive in full measure.  To increase intimacy with Me, the two traits you need the most are receptivity and attentiveness.  Receptivity is opening up your innermost being to be filled with My abundant riches.  Attentiveness is directing your gaze to Me:  searching for Me in all your moments.  It is possible to stay your mind on Me, as the prophet Isaiah wrote.  Through such attentiveness you receive a glorious gift:  My perfect peace.

"But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you". - Philippians 2:17

"I tell you the truth anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it" - Mark 10:15

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trust in You" - Isaiah 26:3

Fix your thoughts- When you are in the midst of something that tries to rob your joy, fix your thoughts on something positive.

Weekly Devotional- Try to see things more and more from My perspective. Let the light of My presence so fully fill your mind that you view the world through Me. When little things don't go as you had hoped, look to Me lightheartedly and say, "Oh well." This simple discipline can protect you from being burdened with an accumulation of pretty cares and frustrations. If you practice this diligently, you will make a life-changing discovery: You realize that most of the things that worry you are not important. If you shrug them off immediately and return your focus to Me, you will walk through your days with lighter steps and a joyful heart.

When serious problems come your way, you will have more reserves for dealing with them. You will not have squandered you energy on petty problems. You may even reach the point where you can agree with the apostle Paul that all your troubles are light and momentary, compared with the eternal glory being achieved by them.

A man's steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way?-Proverbs 20:24

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.-2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Replace Worry With Prayer

Refuse to worry! In this world there will always be something enticing you to worry. That is the nature of a fallen, fractured planet: Things are not as they should be. So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. The best defense is continual communication with Me, richly seasoned with thanksgiving. Awareness of My Presence fills your mind with Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. This awareness lifts you up above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from My perspective. Live close to Me! Together we can keep the wolves of worry at bay.

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Luke 12:25-26

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Slow Down To Increase Awareness Of Your Soul

Sit Quietly in My presence while I bess you.  Make your mind like a still pool of water, ready to receive whatever thoughts I drop into it.  Rest in My sufficiency, as you consider the challenges this day presents.  Do not wear yourself out by worrying about whether you can cope with the pressures.  Keep looking to Me and communicating with Me, as we walk through this day together.

Take time to rest by the wayside, for I am not in a hurry.  A leisurely pace accomplishers more than hurried striving.  When you rush, your forget who you are and Whose you are.  Remember that you are royalty in My kingdom.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.- Psalm 37:7

The spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.  Now if we are children, then are heirs- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. - Romans 8:16-17

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. - 1 Peter 2:9

For nothing is impossible with God!

I am with you and for you.  When you decide on a course of action that is in line with My will, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you.  You may encounter many obstacles as you move toward your goal,  but don't be discouraged-never give up!  With My help, you can overcome any obstacle.  Do not expect an easy path as you journey hand in hand with Me, but do remember that I, your very-present Helper, am omnipotent.

Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come.  One of the main ways I assert My sovereignty is in the timing of events.  If you want to stay close to Me and do things My way, ask Me to show you the path forward moment by moment.  Instead of dashing headlong toward your goal, let Me set the pace.  Slow down, and enjoy the journey in My presence.

What, then, shall we say in response to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?- Romans 8:31

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.- Psalm 46:1-3

For nothing is impossible with God- Luke 1:37
