Mornin' campers!
Well Sunday we slowed jammed the announcements and LONG-jammed the message
Thanks to all my Facebook friends who said they didn't notice the length of the service-just the power of it!

"So long 70 degree days of June." This morning I couldn't tell the difference between the steam coming off my coffee and the heat induced haze of early July.
Hope you had a great July 4th. Our family spent the evening with friends in the country just west of town. Tons of great Hoosier cooking and a phenomenal pro fireworks display right in their expansive back yard. Good times
Thanks to those of you who've taken us up on our online giving challenge! You can still sign up thru our website http://oakbrookchurch.com/give/ If you have trouble navigating the web, or if signing up for this intimidates you - please contact Karl Stoneking and he'll be glad to walk you through it here at the church or over the phone. 765.455.1100 ext 206. .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) In case you missed it yesterday...
Happy Memorial Day, friends. Let us all take a moment and remember all the men and women who've served to protect our great nation. My late father served in WWII in Europe in the armored infantry. He was in the thick of it in Germany and surrounding countries. I have a great respect for him and everyone who's worn the uniform.
Wow-what a powerful talk by Andy Stanley! And what a great illustration with "Mr. & Mrs. Mug." If you missed this talk, you can download it for a measly "buck" from Northpoint's website...
If you were in the auditorium yesterday and didn't walk out feeling uplifted and moved, you should check your pulse
After Aubri's song...
How fun was it to see the Colts roll over the Jets in the second half and win by 13-scoring 24 unanswered points?! Last week we kept the Ravens to 3 and yesterday we win by 13. Bring on the Saints! It was great to have my friend, Sean Verlee, leading us in worship yesterday...
Curtis How's it going back home? Morgan Fine of course---how bout you??
How about that SNOW this morning? I think Christmas music sounds just a little bit better when there's white stuff on the ground. What a great start to the morning yesterday with Cameron and Karissa Sprinkle playing music for us by Lakeside Café and Books! That's something called "30 Till" that we'll be doing with different artists up to Christmas; so come early this Sunday too!
At 2:45 in the wee hours of Thurs. morning Nov 12 we arrived at Oakbrook sluggish and tired. Tom Hearn graciously took us to Indy airport through the kindness of First Presbyterian Church’s bus. By dusk the same day, after flying to Chicago and Miami, we touched down in Haiti. It’s a strange feeling stepping onto the tarmac knowing this is a ride that you can’t get off of until it’s over, (given you’re on an island and your ride won’t be ready for another seven days).
Well I have to say I’ve never before been serenaded by over 600 people singing me “Happy Birthday;” thanks so much! Wow—what a GIGANTIC impact the new projection is in the middle of our stage! It really aided the communication whether it was announcement support, worship lyrics, Scripture verses or message support. I never thought our side screen could appear small!
There's nothing like the humbling challenge of bringing the Sunday morning message! For me it's always a combination of freight, excitement and humility. And it always feels like I'm with "family." Did you notice the new female vocalist yesterday...
